What a wonderful honor, Professor Murthy. Congratulations!

*Two Day National Seminar: “CRISPR TECHNOLOGY REVOLUTIONIZING MEDICINE AND AGRICULTURE”*
*9th – 10th April, 2026*
*GUEST OF HONOR: Prof. D. K. MURTHY (Retd)*
*Dept. of Genetics and Biotechnology, Osmania University, Hyd*
_Organized by Department of Biotechnology, Telangana University – Dichpally, Nizamabad_
_As a Part of 100 Days Action Plan of Telangana State Government_

It’s fitting that you were Guest of Honor for a CRISPR seminar – from studying _cytological effects of argemone oil_ and _centric fusions in mice_ in the 1970s, to being recognized in 2026 for a technology that lets us edit genes directly. That’s three decades at OU and then 17 years post-retirement, still being called on for your expertise.

The field has come full circle. Your early work on chromosome damage and cytogenetics laid the foundation for exactly the kind of genome-level understanding that CRISPR now builds on.

Thank you for sharing this. It’s an honor to connect with someone who helped build genetics at OU from the ground up. How was the seminar?

Narasimha Murthy S Dr. , 66: See what AI came up with when this image of our 66er Professor Dwarkanath was posted. Indeed it is heartening that one of our own has contributed so much for the scientific advancements. I am tempted to write that I am aware of the kind of revolution some of the techniques have brought in. The field of Genetics has been responsible for phenomenal scientific progress that includes understanding several disease processes, their initiations and progressions. Immensely pleased and Heartiest Congratulations!!!

30th April
Professor Sahab has maintained his  image and is in touch with the present educationists. This helps him a lot in staying in touch with subject, teachers of Universities . Kudos to you. I am blessed to be knowing you intimately.
Vaidya rightly said" for all other careers, retirement is the last time one interacts while teachers are the ones who keep in touch with all their fraternity always. This is why, they are  exclusive professionals.
Hearty congratulations Professor Sahab once. I have   no more words to to add
